Hi, Im Courtney, I have been practicing yoga for over 12 years, starting as a way to exercise after my son was born and growing into a way of living in a more harmonic, aligned and connected life. Through many mental and physical health struggles, yoga has been my lifeline to remain connected to myself, and the sacred space of my mat has held many triumphs, tears, awakenings and deep introspection.
In addition to teaching yoga I am a Registered Social Worker with extensive training and experience with trauma and its effect on the body. In 2015 I attended a women’s retreat, and heard the phrase ‘the issues in your tissues” which has become my guidepost for both my personal yoga practice, as well as in the classes I teach. I strive to incorporate healing for all aspects (mental/ emotional/ physical/spiritual) of wellbeing into each practice, while mindfully holding space for healing to occur.
I completed a 50 hour intensive Yin Yoga training with Vincent Lu at Ground Yoga, and discovered a deep passion for teaching- I found that sharing my love of yoga with others felt like a calling and so in 2019 I began my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Joelle McDonald at Inner Peace Yoga, and this studio very quickly became my home away from home!
I am so honored to be able to teach here at Inner Peace Yoga, and look forward to sharing my practice with you!
